Prairie Landing Golf Club

One of the signature Mongolian golf events in America. Since 2017, Chicago Mongolian Golf Championship has been a proving ground for the best Mongolian golfers. It has become a tradition. Welcome to Quintus Chicago Golf Championship 2025.

Event Details

Quintus Chicago Golf Championship 2025 is a 3-day 54 hole championship open to golfers with handicap index: Index Limit: max 35.  Handicap will be rounded to nearest whole number.

Entry fee includes player gift, green fees, cart fees, use of practice facility, trophies, scoring, player prize fund, and closing ceremony dinner.

Starting Times

Shotgun starting times and pairings will be posted on MGL website, MGL Facebook page and Facebook Messenger Group in advance of the tournament. All players should be at their assigned tee a minimum of 5 minutes in advance of their start time. Starters will have information to discuss and distribute to each player in the group.

A player is responsible for being at the assigned tee promptly to begin play on time. Tee Times: If a player arrives at their starting point, ready to play within five (5) minutes of his starting time, the penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes (Rule 6-3a).

This is pre-paid event, therefore, for any reason a player misses a tee time, the organizers are not responsible for any refund or reimbursement of any kind. Please plan accordingly.

Pairings

  • Scramble Teams will be formed fairly starting by pairing the lowest handicap player with highest handicap players and so on.
  • 1st Round Groupings will be assigned according to players’ handicap ranking e.g. the first group will be the lowest 4 handicapped players and so on. Exceptions can be made for the purposes of scorekeeping.
  • Final Round Groupings will be assigned depending on 1st round gross score e.g. the players with lowest gross score will be the first group and so on.

Handicap Acceptance Policy

For this tournament, the lowest handicap will be used by comparing the following sources:

  1. Self-Reported Handicap
    – The handicap submitted by the player at the time of tournament registration.
  2. Mongolian Tournament Handicap
    – The handicap calculated based on scores from official Mongolian golf tournaments.
  3. Official GHIN Handicap
    – The verified handicap from official systems such as GHIN (e.g., USGA, CDGA).

Tie Breaker

* In the event of a tie for 1st place, an on-course playoff will commence immediately following conclusion of regular play, weather, daylight, and the course permitting. If playoff is not feasible, we will be using the countback tie-breaking method: (Last 9,6,3,1 holes): If the tying players have the same score for the last nine, determine the winner on the basis of the last six holes, last three holes, and finally, the 18th hole. If this method is used in a competition with a multiple tee start, the “last nine holes, last six holes, etc.” is considered to be holes 10-18, 13-18, etc.

In net competitions (where handicaps are used), a portion of the handicap from the score for each segment being compared (e.g., half the handicap for the last nine, one-third for the last six). 

Code of Conduct

Rule 1.2a consolidates the expected standards of player conduct:

  • It declares that players are expected to play in the spirit of the game by acting with integrity, showing consideration to others and taking good care of the course.
  • It unequivocally states the Committee’s authority to disqualify a player for any serious misconduct that is contrary to the spirit of the game.

Rule 1.2b also gives the Committee authority to adopt its own Code of Conduct and to set penalties for its breach. Please see our code of conduct here.

Compliance

*Prairie Landing Golf Club dress code does not permit denim or jeans of any kind, tank tops, tee shirts or cut-off shorts. Please dress appropriately in golf attire.

*Pace of Play will regulated for all golfers’ enjoyment.

*Outside food and beverage is NOT permitted.

Reminder: This is a prepaid event. Therefore, no refund is available for no-show, withdraws or cancellation for any reason.
